Thanks to our donors, we are always open, providing a safe and trusted place for young people in any moment of crisis or need. No matter where or how a young person in Canada seeks help, your support puts them on the path to finding it.
It starts with you. Learn more about the powerful impact of your donation by reading our 2017 Impact Report.
Kids Help Phone is a pioneer of e-mental health and virtual care: Canada’s only 24/7 national service offering professional counselling, information, referrals and volunteer-led text-based support for young people. We are the most available, accessible direct support without intermediaries, that a young person can find, and often the only source of support available after hours and around the clock in rural and remote regions of Canada.
Young people reach out to Kids Help Phone from every corner of the country via phone, Live Chat, our internationally recognized website, and through our volunteer-led texting service, in addition to having access to our database of local youth-serving programs. We are experts in counselling, program and service design, data analytics, policy advocacy and knowledge translation and engagement.
Kids Help Phone is a registered Canadian charity, and we raise the majority of our revenue from individuals, foundations, corporations, and community fundraising. Thanks to generous donors, we can work to achieve our vision of a future where every young person in Canada will access the support they need, in the way they need it most.
Since 1989, Kids Help Phone has offered kids, teens, and young adults a critical lifeline of hope and support through our free, bilingual, confidential service, which research shows significantly improves youth mental health. This year, we are celebrating 30 years of providing support and counselling services to young people – shifting the landscape for generations!
